Plan Ahead for a Timely Return
Returning your rental on time is crucial, especially with the heavy traffic often experienced near TPA. The Economy Parking Garage is shared with all major car rental companies and is located away from the terminal, so ensure you have plenty of time before your flight.

Important Tips Before Returning Your Rental
Prohibited Parking Areas: Long Term and Short Term parking garages near the terminal cannot be used for rental car returns.
Dropping Off Your Party: You can drop off passengers at Departures on Level 2 before proceeding to the Economy Parking Garage.
Step-by-Step Guide to Returning Your Rental
Enter the Economy Parking Garage:
At the gate, grab a parking ticket and place it in the cupholder (not on the dashboard or visor).
Navigate to the Top Level:
Merge left after entering, then follow the ramp all the way up to the top level.
Once at the top, drive to the orange side and then continue straight to the green side.
Why the green side? It offers better parking availability and the shortest distance to the SkyTrain.

Park and Document:
Choose a convenient parking spot and take the following photos:
Odometer and fuel gauge
Parking ticket in the cupholder
A full view of the vehicle to indicate its location
Ensure the vehicle is secured as you received it, using the lockbox.
Head to the SkyTrain:
Use the green elevators to go down to the 1st floor. Exit to your left to reach the main elevators leading to the SkyTrain.
Board the SkyTrain to the Terminal:
Press the top-level button on the elevator to reach the SkyTrain platform.
Take the SkyTrain heading toward the Terminal. If you accidentally board the train going to the Car Rental stop, don’t worry—it will loop back to the Economy Parking Garage and then to the terminal.

Level 3: Dining, shopping, and access to all gates.
Level 2: Departures and ticketing.
Level 1: Arrivals and baggage claim.
